A 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit southwestern Mexico’s Oaxaca state at a depth of 24.7 km on Friday. Tremors were felt as far away as Mexico City and an alert was issued. People in the capital have evacuated from buildings and stood on the streets after the earthquake.
