South Korea's unification ministry has urged the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to respond positively to a peace initiative proposed by President Moon Jae-in on Thursday.
The ministry spokesperson Lee Eugene said the government is considering talks to restart cross-border family reunions.
South Korea is also considering military talks to stop hostile acts, including the possibility of ending its loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts in border areas, she said.
This step can be a breakthrough in bringing peace to the Korean peninsula, inter-Korean co-operation is indispensable, stated the spokesperson.
