Ice hockey is played between two teams consisting of twenty players – including two goaltenders – per team. The players on the ice for one team typically consist of three forwards, two defensemen and one goalkeeper, and each team should shoot the puck into its opponent’s goal to get points.
Men’s ice hockey has been an event at the Olympics since 1924 in Chamonix. Women’s ice hockey game was accepted as an Olympic sport in 1992, and made its official debut in 1998 in Nagano.
In men's hockey game at the PyeongChang Games, two-time defending gold medallists, Canada, will play Germany in the semi-finals, and the other semi will see the Czech Republic play the Olympic Athletes of Russia.
