Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said his country stands together with China, and is ready to work with Asian nations to seek cooperation and friendship.
"The Philippines and China are partners," he said, noting that his country will "remain committed to cooperation with friends and neighbors."
Duterte made the remarks on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference in south China's Hainan Province.
He noted that the Philippines aims to achieve a growth rate of seven to eight percent every year up to 2022, adding that the country is investing in innovation and technology.
