Up next, Trending Asia. Three Australian sail drones headed out to sea in March, controlled by a smartphone. Two of the wind and solar powered boats sailed east, while a third was headed for the stormy waters of the Southern Ocean. They're equipped with detectors to record ocean chemistry, salinity, temperature and marine life over the course of 12 months.
