SCO Summit: Expert and scholar voice expectations

The upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit will be held in China's coastal city of Qingdao next weekend. Ahead of the SCO summit, experts from relevant parties shared their expectations for the event.
ANATOLY TOZIK, DIRECTOR CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE, BELARUSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY FORMER BELARUS AMBASSADOR TO CHINA "The world is at a complicated and turbulent stage, member states of the SCO are developing unevenly, some countries are having clashes in a certain degree. I think the whole world is hoping that the SCO will offer a model of coordination and settling disputes in a peaceful way. We hope that decisions made during the SCO summit will make great difference to the world."
KANYBEK ISAKOV, RECTOR OSH STATE UNIVERSITY, KYRGYZSTAN "SCO member states and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative have proposed many programs to strengthen friendships and cooperation for future development. The "Shanghai spirit" can be seen in those programs. We hope to boost development of all the parties through people-to-people exchange under the SCO framework."
