1 / 4 On April 4, 2018, tourists and locals walked into the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden where more than 2 million tulips are expected to bloom this spring in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir (Jammu is the winter capital), India. 2 / 4 The idea of the garden was to increase the local tourism and floriculture. Since the garden was opened in 2007 it has imported lakh fresh bulbs from Holland every year. The garden opens its gates to the public around April when most of its flowers are in full bloom./VCG Photo
3 / 4 The climate in Kashmir is great for tulips. Normally, tulips are sown in temperatures as low as 15 degrees Celsius (around 59 degrees Fahrenheit) and bloom when the temperature reaches around 18 degrees Celsius (64.4 degrees Fahrenheit). /VCG Photo
