US-backed Syrian forces clash with ISIL in Raqqa

US-backed Syrian militia forces have been clashing with ISIL militants in Raqqa city. Footage of of an amateur video released online on Wednesday shows the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) firing on the streets as plumes of smoke rise up from the city.
Since the launch of offensive in Raqqa city last month, SDF has managed to take a large part of the provincial capital, forcing the terrorist group ISIL to their defensive positions in the southern districts.
The US-led coalition has backed the offensive with air strikes and special forces operations. The SDF alliance has also been waging fierce battles inside the Old City of Raqqa, gaining access after coalition jets breached its historic walls.
