Macron emphasizes China-France ties on social media

During his three-day visit to China, French President Emmanuel Macron praised Chinese culture and stressed the importance of China-France ties on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Macron started his Chinese state visit on Monday in Xi’an. On the first day of his visit, he posted 31 tweets and nine Facebook posts. Apart from sharing moments of him meeting different groups of people, Macron also reiterated the importance of building solid trust between France and China.
On Twitter, Macron thanked China for its role in the Paris Agreement and said he hoped for the two countries to work together toward a multilateralism in which everyone can win.

Prior coming to China, Macron celebrated his 40th birthday with Yuanmeng, the first French-born panda, at the Beauval Zoo on Dec. 16, 2017. He didn’t forget to mention it on Twitter and said China and France are able to fulfill dreams together, which is a translation of the panda’s name.
Macron also shared a video of him learning to say “make Earth great again” in Chinese on both his Twitter and Facebook account.

Macron did not slow down his social media post when he arrived in Beijing on Tuesday. Another 20 tweets and six Facebook posts were added to his social media account.
While live streaming his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Twitter, he again emphasized the importance of cooperating with China on different global issues and called for building a “new relationship” with China.

Apart from forming stronger bilateral ties, Macron also used social media to show his appreciation of Chinese culture. He posted videos of him visiting the terracotta warriors and the Forbidden City.
Macron said on Twitter that he will visit China at least once a year during his term.
