A suspect surnamed Xiong never expected he would get arrested, but that's what happened when he found himself having a late night meal at the same restaurant as police.
Eleven off-duty police from Leqing, east China’s Zhejiang Province, identified and arrested fugitive Xiong at 2 am local time on Tuesday.

Chen Jianfeng, the officer who noticed Xiong first, told The Beijing News that “the man mentioned a place related to a case we are investigating.”
He then maintained eye contact with the suspect, who had been on the run since February, and carefully confirmed who he was with other officers.

The police were well aware of Xiong’s appearance as they had repeatedly read his case file and watched the surveillance footage.
Xiong was arrested without any trouble after Chen patted him on the shoulder and said his nickname.

“He (Xiong) seemed to be muddled,” Chen said. “Xiong knew that he was wanted online and had fled to another province. He didn’t expect to be arrested when he came back to have a midnight supper,” he added.
Chen’s team has been nicknamed “The Avengers” due to their incredible crime fighting skills, such as being able to recognize suspects in crowds after only a few seconds and identify a car's license plate even when it's blurred. They even cracked six cases after being established for only one week.
