Typhoon Hato has slammed into south China’s Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong Province, lashing with wind and rain that uprooted trees and forced most businesses to close. In Macao, 8 people were killed and hundreds were injured. More than 450 flights in Hong Kong were cancelled. Hato triggered typhoon 10 warning, the most severe one in Hong Kong’s typhoon warning system. It is only the third time a storm of such power has hit the city in the past 20 years.
