We begin in Beijing where Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa. After the welcome ceremony, the two leaders held talks at the Great Hall of the People and signed agreements covering various fields.
Both sides agreed to upgrade their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. President Xi cited the countries' long-standing friendship, adding they should expand their cooperation under the Belt and the Road Initiative and the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. Mnangagwa thanked China for its contribution in his country's development. He added Zimbabwe is looking forward to further cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
