With technology and innovation generating a lot of excitement at the Import Expo, what are some of the coolest, must-have gadgets? Our reporter Yang Chengxi takes a look at some things you might want to add to your holiday wish lists.
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "If you're looking for something cool. How about this?"
I am surrounded by 80 cameras from electronics maker SONY. By snapping a picture at the exact same time, they can create this special effect, like the one in the movie Matrix.
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "I might not be as good-looking as Keanu Reeves, but that was still pretty cool right?"
At the expo's consumer appliance pavilion, you can find everything from super high definition TVs to wireless-controlled washing machines.
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "This TV screen is so thin, you can literally see through it. But there's another consumer category that surely appeals to the younger generation."
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "And to be good at it, you need the best hardware. Global companies in this industry are seeing big business opportunities this time around to boost their sales in China."
JASON JIN GAMER "As a gamer I want my computer to have fast CPUs, strong graphic cards, refresh rates of the screen etc. These hardware technologies upgrade pretty quickly."
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "You should also have a highly responsive mouse. This wireless one made by a Danish company will soon hit the market. It even allows you to customize the weight so it'll always suit your habit. Why this perfectionism? Because one slip of hand can be the difference between winning and losing."
HE PENG, GENERAL MANAGER STEELSERIES GREATER CHINA "We are a latecomer to China, but we can feel how fast the e-sports market is growing here. We know our Chinese League of Legends team IG has just won the world championship, and many young people across China are very excited and inspired by this. We have reason to believe China will be a major market for our brand."
The specialized keyboards for e-sports also look and feel very different from office keyboards.
SUN XINGYU, CHIEF CHINA SALES AGENT CHERRY "The demands from Chinese gamers have influenced the product designs and sales strategies in Cherry's German headquarters. They pivoted from selling mainly traditional keyboards to more professional gaming keyboards in China."
YANG CHENGXI SHANGHAI "These gadgets are almost necessities to serious gamers, and that's why these companies are so optimistic and if you really want to up your game, you can even get one of these e-sports chairs. Now you're well-equipped to play like a pro. YCX CGTN SHANGHAI."
