The number of unemployed people in Spain fell by 340,700 in the second quarter of 2017, according to the Economically Active Population Survey published by the Statistical Office (INE) on Thursday.
The unemployment rate fell to 17.22 percent in the second quarter, compared to 18.75 percent in the first.
Job creation in the service sector and industry climbed by 272,400 and by 65,700, respectively.
Likewise, employment grew 52,100 in construction. Meanwhile, employment in agriculture fell by 15,200.

A total of 375,000 new jobs were created in the second quarter and the number of employed people stood at 18.8 million, the highest number since the third quarter of 2010.
The number of unemployed fell below 4 million for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2008 and Spain's unemployment rate stood at 17.22 percent, also its lowest level since the end of 2008, when the financial crisis started.
