China's diplomatic endeavors, which feature a commitment to realizing the "Chinese Dream" as first expressed by President Xi, of the "great rejuvenation of the nation", are also contributing to world peace and stability, according to newly-released documentary series "Major-Country Diplomacy."
From August 29, CGTN is airing the six-episode documentary series illustrating how China's diplomatic philosophy and practice is helping realize the Chinese Dream as the country's role in international affairs undergoes profound changes.
The series outlines China's new approach and practices in global governance as the country seeks to build a "community of prosperity and progress for mankind".
The first episode, which includes an extensive range of interviews and stories, reviews Chinese President Xi Jinping's visits to five continents, 56 countries, and several major international and regional organizations over the past five years.
The program showcases how the Chinese leader has repeatedly stressed the importance of "peaceful development" and "win-win development."
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in November 2012, the Party Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core has been promoting "Major-Country Diplomacy with Chinese characteristics".
In an article published in July, Chinese State Councilor and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Leading Group Yang Jiechi outlined the importance of diplomacy, stating: "Diplomacy is an essential part of the overall work of the Party and the State."
China's diplomacy will respond to "the call of our times and envision greater human progress," Yang said, adding Xi's thoughts on diplomacy are "a comprehensive and profound system of theories with rich connotations."
While staying "committed to peace, development and win-win cooperation," China's diplomatic philosophy will "pave the way for achieving the two centenary goals and fulfilling the Chinese Dream of national renewal," Yang added.
