Heavy rainfall is disrupting the daily commute in the southern China, while a heat wave is baking some cities in the North. Sun Tianyuan has more.
It's pouring buckets in southern China. Neither pedestrians nor vehicles can escape. Store owners are seeing financial losses.
STORE OWNER PUTIAN, FUJIAN PROVINCE "When I woke up this morning, the water was pouring into our store. The steps at the storefront are about 3 meters above the ground, so you can see how high the water is."
But, people in Hebei Province are struggling with a different problem, an overdose of sun.
RESIDENT CHENGDE, HEBEI PROVINCE "It feels so hot today. I had to prepare a lot before heading out of the door. I put on sunscreen and brought my umbrella, but it feels like the sun rays go right through the umbrella, and burn my skin."
DELIVERY MAN CHENGDE, HEBEI PROVINCE "Especially with the helmet, it makes me feel so stuffy and dizzy."
The rain in southern China has been falling for some time. It's triggered floods in some areas, and landslides in some mountain areas. And for the waterlogged residents, the rainbow can't come soon enough. STY, CGTN.
