Kim Jong Un, leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is hosting a dinner for special envoys from Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in, in its capital city of Pyongyang on Monday, according to Yonhap News Agency citing the Blue House.
The ROK's 10-member delegation led by Chung Eui-yong, President Moon's top national security advisor, landed in Pyongyang on Monday afternoon and met with DPRK officials.
Before the delegation left the ROK Monday morning, its chief envoy said the two-day trip will aim at facilitating US-DPRK denuclearization talks.
But it's not immediately clear what both sides will discuss or what else is on the agenda for the two-day visit.
Kang Kyung-wha, ROK's foreign minister on Monday also expressed hope that the envoys could further explore the DPRK's intentions for talks with the US after both showed willingness to ease tension during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
