We begin with breaking news. The Seoul Central District Court has sentenced former South Korean president Park Geun-hye to 24 years in jail after being found guilty of charges including abuse of power, bribery and coercion. She also faces a fine of about 17 million US dollars. Park herself did not appear in court. The 66-year-old has been in jail since March last year. Her scandal has so far landed the heads of South Korea's largest conglomerates in jail, including Samsung.
