The Russian foreign minister says Washington and Pyongyang cannot resolve their differences without help. Sergey Lavrov said this was the time to restart the six-party talks, a mechanism that had been in place until 2009 to find a peaceful resolution to the DPRK nuclear issue.
SERGEY LAVROV RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER "It's important to solve the issues between the United States and North Korea, including the stages of denuclearisation of the whole peninsula as well as security guarantees. But it's clear that a bilateral format can hardly resolve these problems in full. All participants of the six-party talks have always proceeded from the fact that this process should end with building a system of peace, security and stability in the whole North-Eastern Asia."
