Lavrov confirms Putin and Abe will meet in Russia this May

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Russia in May and hold a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is in Japan for a two-day visit on Wednesday.
Besides, Abe is scheduled to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and an opening ceremony for the cross-year of culture with Japan in Moscow.
Lavrov has discussed bilateral ties, economy, national security, cultural exchanges and international issues - including the situation on the Korean Peninsula - with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono.
Following their talks, the two foreign ministers held a joint press conference in Tokyo.
