Founder of the Clown Theater Academy, Slava Polunin, is Russia's most legendary master clown. His comedy "Slava’s SnowShow" has rocked theater circles since its debut in London more than two decades ago. The spectacular show also thrilled its Beijing audience over the weekend with its dazzling visual features and surprising twists and turns.

Presented with many of the world's most prestigious theatrical awards, the comedy originated in the childhood experiences of its creator Slava Polunin.
"I grew up in a place that snowed a lot. Snow was my playmate in childhood. That's where my inspiration came from when I was creating the show," said Polunin.

There are no lines delivered in Slava’s SnowShow, instead the clowns on the stage use their expressive body language to communicate with the audience members. As fun as the clowns' expressions and movements are, the show also occasionally arouses sympathy, such as when it focuses on Slava's childhood loneliness.
"I'm proud the show can bring the audience back to their childhood when people were always having fun,” Polunin said. “Actually the clown show wasn't targeted at children as usual, but adults instead. Some are even in tears at times. But still I made some adjustments to also cater to the younger audience members."
