At least 50 people were killed after a US-Bangla Airlines plane crashed at Nepal's Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday, Reuters reported citing an army spokesperson.
Two Chinese were among the injured, but their identities are yet to be confirmed, local media reported.
A total of 22 people on board had been rescued, nine of whom are Bangladeshis, Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry said in a press release Monday night.
Airport officials suspected that technical failures might have caused the tragic accident.
Around 71 people were thought to be on board, an airport official said.
A Chinese passenger named Zhang Ming, an employee of China's SANY Group, was on the passenger list. The Chinese embassy in Nepal has yet to confirm whether he was on board the plane.
