The Chinese Traditional Orchestra's tour, "Enchanting China", began at Hollywood's Dolby Theater on Wednesday. The performance featured artists
from both China and the US.
Over 70 artists performed in front of US
audiences. The performance is based on traditional Chinese folk music,
and integrates Chinese and Western forms of opera, aiming to showcase Chinese
culture in a new art form.

"This is the Chinese Traditional Orchestra's first appearance at the Dolby
Theater in Los Angeles. All the tickets have been sold. I'm very glad that
people are interested in traditional Chinese culture," said Liu Xuejun, deputy director of the Chinese Traditional Orchestra.
Famous American composer and conductor Brian Tyler performed with Chinese
artists, and played western music with traditional Chinese musical instruments.
In recent years, traditional Chinese instruments have become increasingly popular with audiences across the world, as many westerners have started to know and love this form of classical music.

"The Chinese Traditional Orchestra represents the highest level of traditional
Chinese folk music. This kind of cultural communication is very important in
promoting friendship and understanding between the two peoples," said Zhang Ping, the Chinese consul in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is the first stop of the tour. The orchestra will then hold performances in San
Francisco and Seattle.
