US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis visited the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea on the first day of his two-day visit to South Korea. Mattis arrived in the country on Friday morning amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula, and ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to Asia next week.
