Jin Liqun, president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), is well known to many in business circles but his daughter is a respected figure in the world of economics in her own right.
Dr Keyu Jin is known to her students as a Professor of Economics with the London School of Economics (LSE), but not many there know she is the daughter of the AIIB president.
She studied at Harvard University from B.A. to Phd and then started her career at LSE.
But all that changed two years ago when suddenly there was an online buzz in China about her.
“The one who is more successful than you, also works harder than you” is a quote that was often used to describe Keyu.
Speaking to CGTN on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, this able scholar explained what she and her policy maker father are most likely to discuss at the dinner table.
“Our debate is usually about which author or which historian we prefer in post-war Europe. On economic issues, I like to quantify things and then make conclusions,” she said.
“His vision and experience helps me a lot. We are just so different.”
