We now turn to the World Figure Skating Championships in Milan. Jin Boyang's quest to reach the podium for a third straight year had already gotten off to a rough start, as he stood fourth after the men's short program. And the Chinese would face more setbacks in the free skate, while American Nathan Chen put together another strong routine, in search of his first world title.
Jin not displaying his usual solid form. The 20-year-old Harbin native falls five times, and would finish 19th overall. Also taking tumbles are the USA's Vincent Zhou -- Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan -- and Russia's Mikhail Kolyada.Their spills leave Chen lots of margin for error. The 18-year-old led after the short program, and lands a record setting six quads in the free skate to claim his first world title, ahead of Uno and Kolyada.
