The timber arch lounge bridges, one of China’s national treasures, were successfully rebuilt recently in Taishun County, east China’s Zhejiang Province.
Three timber arch lounge bridges were destroyed by Super Typhoon Meranti in 2016, but thanks to the work of local residents and builders, these bridges reappeared in Taishun only a year after the typhoon.
The method of construction was listed by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009.
