Mission accomplished for an international carnival in the streets of Harare, Zimbabwe that has attracted three million participants from around the globe.
The carnival was aimed at attracting more visitors to the country in hopes of boosting tourism, according to Zimbabwe authorities who have hailed it as a success, praising the peace with which it was conducted.

"Only a peaceful country like Zimbabwe can gather that level of people without any skirmishes. If it was any other country… with 60 policemen one would know what would happen,” Chief Executive of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Karikoga Kaseke said.
In June 2017, the Southern African country launched the international year for sustainable tourism development. It has put in place strategies to ensure a maximization of the full potential of tourism for sustainable development of the country.

The Zimbabwe Carnival started in 2015 and has grown throughout the years. This year’s edition ran for 10 days, with 26 international and regional countries participating.
