Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Saturday said that actions of Western countries in Syria are “unacceptable and lawless," condemning that Pentagon justified its action ahead of the investigation of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
Lavrov made the remarks during a press conference after the US, Britain, and France carried out on Saturday a wave of punitive strikes against government military targets in Syria in response to an alleged chemical attack on Douma near Damascus a week ago.
According to media reports, Russia proposed a draft United Nations Security Council resolution on Saturday that would condemn "the aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic by the US and its allies in violation of international law and the UN Charter."
