Couple discover they were in childhood photo together

The common Hollywood romance of love revolving around fate is often shrugged off by many as a fantasy, but for one couple in China this was exactly how their story played out. The couple recently discovered to their amazement that, when they were children, they were in the exact same photo and didn’t realize that one day they would end up being together.

35-year-old Mr. Ye and his wife have been married for five years and currently live in Chengdu. Last weekend, Ye, his wife and their twin daughters went to his mother-in-law’s house. While his wife was playing with their twin daughters in the living room, Mr. Ye decided to take a look at his wife’s childhood photos.

"I wanted to find out what my wife was like as a child and to see if my daughter was more like me or her." Mr. Ye said. He then came across a photo of his wife in Qingdao which caught his attention. Suddenly, he noticed a small figure in the bottom right corner of the photo. It was of himself standing just behind his wife’s back.

"I've heard her say that she has been to Qingdao before, and I have also been to Qingdao and taken a photo in the square, but we didn't realize we went at the same time,” Ye said excitedly.

Back in 2000, when they were both only 10 years old, Ye and his wife took separate trips to the seaside city of Qingdao, oblivious of each others presence in the city.

While touring around the city, they both stopped by the square and posed for a souvenir photo at the exact same moment. In the photo, his wife sat in the front of a significant statue in the square and Ye was striking a pose for his photo in the background.

11 years after these photos were taken. Ye and his wife met each other and started their family. It was only when sorting through old photos over the weekend that they discovered that their paths had crossed much earlier than they had originally thought.
