With an investment of 11.5 billion yuan (about 1.75 billion US dollars), the industry park is tasked to focus on the research and production of new kinds of hydrogen fuel cells, said the authorities of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. When the park is completed, its industrial output value is estimated to be 35 billion yuan each year.
The development zone authorities hope the park could be used to form an integrated industrial chain, incorporating the research, manufacturing and the sale of hydrogen fuel-powered generators, as well as developing and producing hydrogen fuel cells for coaches in cooperation with coachbuilders from other Chinese cities.
