Three people suffered minor injuries and another 80 were trapped inside their cars in a 53-vehicle pile-up on the Kun Chu highway in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, according to local police.
Four people also fell to their death as they attempted to cross the median strip from the lane where the accident took place to the other.

The accident, which is believed to have been caused by icy roads, occurred at 6:00 a.m. local time.
Rescue and relief work is being carried out.
