As one of the largest art museums in Asia, China Art Museum has also been considered a key art venue in the country.
“An art museum can warm a city, and imperceptibly guide the public aesthetic,” said Li Lei, director of the museum. “We would like to spread a message of beauty and wisdom in multiple ways, rather than artworks hanging on the wall.”

Now it has developed its own strategy to include international exchange and digital service. Visitors can not only scan the QR code next to the art piece to learn more about the work, but also are able to download a 3D map to ensure an easy tour, according to Shanghai Daily.

The China Art Museum is supposed to be a platform for the masses to enjoy art and culture, not a “small world” for artistic circles only, according to The Paper. With that in mind, the museum aims to set up an art library and reading area for kids within the next five years, not to mention a larger number of various themed exhibitions and public education.
