A baby Asian elephant stuck in an aqueduct was rescued in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, southwestern China’s Yunnan Province on January 13. Rescuers lifted the elephant out while risking an attack from its family. The elephant was transferred to the Asian Elephants Breeding and Rescue Center for treatment the next day.
