Differences have long existed between rich countries and developing countries when it comes to financing the transition to clean energy. In an interview with CGTN, Li Gao, deputy-chief of China's delegation to the UN climate conference, said China stands ready to tackle climate change by working with other developing countries.
LI GAO, DIRECTOR CLIMATE DEPARTMENT NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND REFORM COMMISSION "I think the finance is a key issue in the negotiation process because countries have the obligation to provide financial and Technology capacity-building support to developing countries. And we would like to see a more ambitious commitment and implementations of financial support by developed countries. They have already made a commitment on providing $100,000 [HE MEANS 100 BILLION] by 2020. We hope that this kind of commitment can be fully implemented. And as a developing country, China would like to help other developing countries through south-south cooperation."
