In 2012, when the multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was announced, there was a threat that the project may be sabotaged. The Pakistani government and the military devised a plan and assigned a special security division to protect Chinese personnel and the CPEC, throughout the length and breadth of the country.
