Chinese President Xi Jinping to chair BRICS Summit in Xiamen

Chinese President Xi Jinping will chair the upcoming ninth BRICS Summit in the eastern Chinese city of Xiamen, Fujian Province, from September 3 to 5, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.
Lu Kang, spokesperson for the ministry, said Xi will also chair the Dialogue of Emerging Markets and Developing Countries on mutually beneficial cooperation for common development.
The Chinese president will also attend a host of events, such as the opening ceremony of the BRICS business forum.
