After October's Party Congress, China has signaled its diplomacy in the New Era with a series of events.
Last November, President Xi Jinping attended the APEC leaders' meeting and paid state visits to Vietnam and Laos. It was his first overseas trip after the Party Congress, and it is considered to have charted a new course for China's major-country diplomacy in the New Era.
In his 2018 New Year Address, President Xi stressed China's resolution to "build a community with a shared future for all humankind". The concept was first introduced in 2011, and was incorporated into UN resolutions in November last year.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi says in the New Era, China will continue to break new ground in pursuing major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics.
