The NPC session will hold its fifth plenary meeting on Saturday to elect leaders and members of the NPC Standing Committee, the president and vice president of the state, and chairperson of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China.
Delegates will also vote on a draft resolution on restructuring the State Council institutions. Its sixth plenary meeting will be held on Sunday to elect the premier, vice chairman and members of the Central Military Commission; director of the supervisory commissions; as well as the country's top justice and procurator. The seventh plenary meeting on Monday will elect the vice premier, State councillors and Secretary-General of the state council, as well as ministers. The governor of the People's Bank of China will also be elected. And the closing session is expected to be held on Tuesday. At that time, deputies will vote on the draft resolution of the six annual work reports and draft supervision law. The meeting will conclude with speeches by the newly elected president and NPC Standing Committee Chairman. A press conference by the premier and vice premiers will follow.
