During the international brand night of China Fashion Week, fashion designer Vivienne Tam took her Spring/Summer 2019 collection to the Bird's Nest Culture Center in Beijing. Let's head to the runway to take a look.It was a chilly Wednesday night in Beijing. However, designer Vivienne Tam transported us to warm and comfortable Southeast Asia, with a runway show dominated by floral prints and bright colors.The collection drew inspiration from the culture of the region, particularly the traditional flower offerings denoting love, warmth and happiness.Vibrant blues, greens, yellows and reds as well as fluorescent pinks injected the collection with energy. The fabrics were acid dyed denim, crinkled chiffon, sheer organza and multi-colored lace.Knits and crochet, as well as straw hats and handbags created a summer holiday spirit. Symbolic creatures of the region such as peacocks and butterflies were printed on dresses and skirts. Tam said her collection was inspired by a trip to Southeast Asia.VIVIENNE TAM FASHION DESIGNER "This collection was inspired by my trip to Southeast Asia. Everytime I went to those places I feel so inspired. The country and the culture give me so much energy. The people and the way they live, the arts and crafts, it's so amazing."It's the second time that Tam has brought her fashion creations to China Fashion Week. Last November, she showcased her Spring/Summer 2018 collection, which was inspired by the Chinese movie "Monster Hunt".Tam said that presenting her show at the Bird's Nest Culture Center this time was like coming home.VIVIENNE TAM FASHION DESIGNER "Doing a show in the Bird's Nest makes me feel like coming home. I feel so great, it's a very exciting moment for me."Born in Guangzhou, raised in Hong Kong and now based in New York, Vivienne Tam's designs always reflects this fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
