Thailand's former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra went to the country's Supreme Court Friday morning as her negligence trial nears conclusion.
She was greeted by a handful of supporters at the court. Yingluck has been charged with mismanaging a multi-billion-US-dollar rice subsidy scheme, which led to her eventual downfall.
The case has lasted for two years, and a verdict is finally expected in a few weeks' time when closing statements will be delivered.
Yingluck's government was ousted in a 2014 military coup, with the former leader facing up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of negligence.
She and her Puea Thai Party claim the trial is politically motivated, and is aimed at discrediting a populist movement that has won every election since 2001.
