“The real intention of Donald Trump is to use these outrageous announcements as a bargaining chip, and this is really a pre-negotiation" tactic, said Dr. John Gong, professor at the University of International Business and Economics, about whether US President Donald Trump’s threat to slap more tariffs on Chinese products is bigger than reality.
Gong said that this is not the first time that Trump’s cabinet members say one thing, only to be contradicted by him the very next day.
In Gong’s opinion, this is entirely unnecessary because those narratives of very negative pictures have caused fear and concerns in the market, and it is going to destroy the economic outlook in 2018.
