Tens-of-thousands gathered in Windsor to celebrate the wedding of Britain's Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. Millions more watched on television around the world, as the couple put a modern twist on British traditions. CGTN's Kate Parkinson has details.
There was not a cloud in the sky as Meghan Markle arrived at St George's Chapel, Windsor to marry her prince. Her minimalistic pure white gown was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of French fashion house Givenchy.
Walking down the aisle, the bride's long white silk veil - embroidered with flowers from each of the 53 Commonwealth countries - trailed behind her.
The couple had put their own modern touch on the ceremony which included a performance by a gospel group as well as the traditional hymns, prayers, and readings and had chosen to omit the word "obey" from their vows.
