China Fashion Week: Event opens with Young Fashion Designers Contest

The latest China Fashion Week has kicked off in Beijing, focusing on the 2019 and 2020 Autumn and Winter seasons. It opened with an International Young Fashion Designers Contest. Check it out.  
A showcase of creations by 25 young designers from home and abroad, including Spain, Germany and Norway, all at the International Young Fashion Designers Contest.
Under the theme of "Wild Life", the competition showcases the designers' understanding of animal protection, and the relationship between human and nature.
Maria Molina is a contestant from Spain, and this is the first time that she's taken part in the contest. Her works are titled "Rain Dust".
The contest's top award went to Zhao Rui, a student from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Zhao was honored for his "Magic Forest" collection.

The Silver Award was shared by Spanish designer Maria Molina and Chinese designer Li Yi. And Chinese designers Zhang Keqi and Zhang Shuxiao walked home with the Bronze Awards. Nearly one hundred events including shows, professional contests, trade presentations, forums, and creative performances, will be held during the week-long event, which runs through Sunday.
One of the highlights will be the "City Fashion Engine" project, which features works of 15 designers from Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Beijing, Xiamen and Dalian. The China Fashion Week began in 1997, and is held twice a year in Beijing, with the Fall Winter Collections in March and Spring Summer Collections shown in October.  SUN WEI, CGTN.
