The African Union (AU) has condemned an al-Shabaab attack on one of its convoys in the Somali capital Mogadishu on July 30.
But the mission said the incident won't deter its resolve to maintain peace.
Uganda's Ministry of Defense confirmed that Ugandan soldiers were part of the AMISOM convoy that was attacked, but it has yet to reveal the number of fatalities.
Reports from local authorities in Somalia suggest that over 20 of the mission's soldiers were killed.
Al-Shabaab militants put the death toll at 39.
