Future of Performing Arts: Beijing forum discusses theatre industry development

An international forum of performing arts wrapped up Sunday at the National Center for the Performing Arts. Themed as "Exchange and Cooperation for Experience Sharing and Win-Win Outcomes," the forum was designed to promote joint discussions on the development of theater and performing arts.
At Beijing's National Center for the Performing Arts, over 200 executives and artists from more than 90 art institutes around the world including the John. F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Opera National de Paris and the Teatro Real in Spain, gathered at China's leading opera house and shared their thoughts on the opportunities and challenges facing the theater industry today.

We call for theater professionals around the world to work together and to build a community of shared destiny for the sustainable development of theatres."
During the three-day event, participants joined in-depth discussions over three practical issues of theatre development including the so-called "new concept of theatre operation and management", "art education and audience cultivation" and the "future road of art creation and production".
Artistic executives from around the world also shared their thoughts on the importance of cultural exchange and the shared destiny for theaters.

During the forum, several strategic partnership agreements were made between the NCPA and visiting theatres.
Industry representatives also adopted the Beijing Declaration which aims to carry out further cooperation in the fields of artistic creation, talent cultivation, universal education and information sharing.
