A gigantic purification tower, built to tackle the issue of haze, began its trial run in Xi’an on Tuesday. The innovative, 60-meter-high tower was the brainchild of experts from the Institute of Earth Environment who designed and developed their creation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. According to the on-site staff, the project is currently in the testing stage. However, the results of earlier trials have shown that the purification tower does have a positive effect on air quality.
