The exhibition consists of two theme units: "Trans - Orient - Occident" and "Chinese young artists’ exhibition in France."
The former unit displays the art works of eight predecessors such as Liu Haisu, Lin Fengmian and Xu Beihong, enclosed with relevant documents, showing their exploration of art in a Sino-France cultural context during the 1930s.

The latter unit, composed of eight young Chinese artists who currently study or have graduated in France like Chen Qing, Pang Fan and Tian Dexi interprets the contemporary status quo in Paris and the young generation’s creativity and life through various art methods including photography, painting, and graffiti.
Jin Wenyi, deputy director of Liu Haisu Art Museum, and Cui Baozhong, president of VIA Paris, hold the post of the Chinese and French curator respectively.
