Ningbo City hosts 15th Asia Arts Festival

The 15th Asia Arts Festival opened on Saturday night in Ningbo City, east China's Zhejiang Province.

The festival includes performances and art exhibitions as well as hosting the Lancang-Mekong cultural forum. An event in which culture ministers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and China will gather to discuss exchange and cooperation between the countries.

The Asia Arts Festival was first held in 1998 in Beijing, and the previous festival was held in Quanzhou in east China's Fujian Province in 2015.

Statistics show that over 300 art groups from more than 30 countries and regions in Asia have attended the festival since its inauguration.

This year's event, joint hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the provincial government of Zhejiang, will last until October 23.

The event hopes to celebrate the human spirit through its collaboration with art organizations and individual artists from across the region.

It endeavors to build partnerships and strong intellectual connections between the artists, with the aim of exploring the endless possibilities of the creative mind. Asia Art Festival 2017 hopes to inspire young minds to create artworks and to engage themselves in creative, artistic pursuits.
