Among the members of the Chinese delegation is the wheelchair curling squad, who trained at the Gangneung Curling Center. This is just the second time the PRC has qualified a team for the curling competition.
The squad arrived in Pyeongchang earlier this week and rested before going to the rink for two training sessions Thursday, in an effort to get used to the ice for the bonspiel. Some background on curling at the Paralympics, the sport was added to the program in 2006. There are four players per team, with at least one were female. Of the Chinese squad, three of the five participated in the Sochi Paralympics. The other two are making their Games debut.
And four members of the Chinese snowboard team would also try and get used to the conditions. The squad which was established only a year ago, have had three days of training on the slopes. There are two disciplines at the Games in the sport -- snowboard cross, and banked slalom. Those are also known as -- slope rotation and obstacle chase in some circles. The disciplines are also divided into different levels of disability.
